Stress Management- Don't Let the Stress Manage You

Have you heard the phrase, "if it isn't one thing, it is another"? And if you are a parent, I am sure you are able to relate to this statement. The fact of the matter is we are all dealing with stress and it is key that you learn to manage your stress sooner versus later. Stress does have its benefits. It sometimes provide us with the motivation to accomplish goals and tasks that we would not normally accomplish without lighting the fire under us. So, here are a few keys to assist you in managing your daily stress: 1. Utilize a monthly calendar to schedule events on a monthly basis. Include business and work obligations in the same calendar to ensure there is no overlap. 2. Schedule events throughout your day, but leave blocks of time (30 minutes) to adjust if you deviate from your schedule. 3. Schedule lunch for yourself each day and make your lunch hour a NO-WORK zone. You will need time to rejuvenate and prepare for the rest of your day. 4. Review your accomplishments throughout the day and notate your progress on your schedule. 5. Allow yourself 15-20 breaks throughout the day for mental breaks. 6. Don't skimp on breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 7. Take a 20 minute break every 4 hours 8. Create a daily gratitude list to remind yourself all that you have to be thankful for.
