Walking and Depression

Exercise has many benefits.   Exercise can help you burn extra calories, but it also helps with your mood.   The vagus nerve runs throughout your body, and it can be stimulated through certain movements and particularly, through exercise.  So, when your doctor encourages you to exercise to help with your waistline, think of other benefits- such as the impact on the mood.

What are some ways that you can get started with exercise?
1. Start slowly and gradually implement exercise into your regimen.
2. Find your favorite tunes and walk to the music!
3.  Go for a stroll with a friend.
4. Pace yourself- start small and gradually work your way up.
5.  Set a daily exercise goal- 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes
6.  Take frequent walk breaks
