Mindful Breathing in Managing Anxiety

In order to live, we must breathe!! Mindful breathing can help you to feel more relaxed, in touch with yourself, and have a better outlook on your life.  Life in and of itself may be challenging and is filled with pain and joy.  Being mindful is to be present in the moment, aware of your surroundings, and open to the possibilities that the present has to offer. Anxiety is futuristic and is focused on the future or the past. When you find that you are ruminating or turning thoughts over in your mind, practice a mindful activity.   So what are some ways to be mindful?  Gardening, walking, yoga, guided meditation or breathing are mindful activities. How can you incorporate mindfulness in your life?  Plan mindful activities in 15 minute increments and be consistent.
