Mother's Day at the Healing Space

 Mother's Day is fast-approaching and this is the perfect time to honor yourself or your mother.  Our relationships with our parents create the prototype for future relationships.   If your are looking to honor yourself or your mother, there are several ways for you to do so.  Gary Chapman identified the Five Love Languages- Words of Affirmation, Acts of Service, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, and Physical Touch,  and your mother's love language may be one these listed below.

Words of Affirmation

Words of Affirmation are words that express how much you care about your significant other. You may simply state your feelings and emotions or can express them in a poem, song, or love letter.  Handwritten notes, emails, or other forms of communication can be very effective in communicating your emotions.

Acts of Service

Acts of Service can range from cooking a meal to planning a getaway vacation.   The gestures may be small or large and show your love and commitment through actions or deeds. Acts of service and gift giving may be closely related to each other.

Quality Time

Walking on the beach, eating dinner, or watching television are great ways of spending quality time.  Quality time does not have to be an event, but can be time spent together in silence or simply being in the company of people that you love.
